Can we press pause in January?
Do we always have to set goals and go a full speed in the first month of the year...
I’m usually the one who loves goal setting, buying the stationary back in October so I can get going as soon as possible. But this year, it holds no joy. I feel no fizzle of anticipation for the year that lies ahead.
It’s not that I don’t have big plans. I do. And it's not that I don’t want to make things happen this year; I certainly do. It’s more that I can’t get into all the hype around it. If I'm honest, it just makes me want to take a long nap.
I don’t know about you, but I’m craving slow mornings, long baths, good books, taking my time making and eating good food, and a trip to the seaside right now. I want to lie in and go at a much slower pace than the traditional January energy requires.
And I know a few of you are feeling the same.
So, can we just press pause on that January energy for a while? Still work towards the things we want but at a pace that feels in tune with how we want to work right now.
Maybe February can be the new January - what do you think?
